After your trial lesson with Heli North West,which you can log towards your licence, you will be nominated a dedicated flight instructor. It is advisable to keep the same instructor throughout your course, and we will endeavour for this to happen, however there may be an occasion where you will fly with another instructor which will often be beneficial.

Ground study compliments your overall knowledge of helicopter aviation and general aviation so as to improve and develop your skills as a pilot.
We appreciate most students would rather fly than study, but it is a very important part of your training and is a major part of learning about aviation.
The flight training PPL (H) syllabus is conducted in accordance with the requirements set out by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and Joint Aviation Requirements (JAR) and must include a minimum of 45 hours of flight training which is supervised by a helicopter flight instructor.
